HOW LANGUAGES CAN INCREASE AWERNESS TOWARDS DISCRIMINATION ?
This blog is going to focus on two subtopics: languages and discrimination in a subtle way. These subtopics will serve as the foundation for my lingua-xions blog, which will attempt to answer the following question: How can learning a particularly second language or understanding fairly other cultures help people mostly become more aware of cultural differences, discrimination, and even racism, particularly contrary to popular belief.
Why languages and discrimination?
This project is about learning about something that interests me and relating it to a current subject or major concern that we are currently fighting, such as global warming, discrimination, pollution, and so on. I decided to focus on something I used to struggle with: languages, and I am now almost a polyglot. In addition, I'm relating languages to a societal issue, which is prejudice.
Because languages and discrimination do not match, you may be afraid that this blog will have some broads or limits. I already considered it and determined that languages are more than simply a method of communicating information; they also represent a culture and the way people from the same geographical area or cultural background think and act. As a result, my study will require some language variety as well as the historical backdrop of the nations I will be addressing and evaluating. Furthermore, I'd want to publish the findings of my research on acts of prejudice throughout the world, which will be handled in my learn anything you want blog.
Why blog instead of using Instagram or YouTube videos?
Well, blogging is a better format since I will provide my readers with thorough information about the topics I will address. You may be asking if the same purpose may be accomplished through other platforms, such as social media. That is right; nonetheless, as previously stated, I would like to improve my English writing skills. Videos and Instagram profiles are particularly effective because they force you to be concise and detailed about the information you want to offer with your audience. Podcasts are also fantastic, but languages and prejudice are, in my opinion, fairly broad topics to cover.
Why lingua-xions?
This name was selected because it combines two words: Lingua, a Latin term that means "language," and Reflections. Because this is a blog about languages and discrimination, I thought this title was suitable for it. You may be asking why the word "reflection" is used. As I previously said, the articles will address and explore various forms of prejudice that are occurring in various nations throughout the world.
